We were walking in Boston by the Charles River in a hurry to get to dinner on time. However, I slowed everything down by stopping several times to take pictures of a wonderful golden hour and great views of Boston and Beacon hill. It did not even register with me that the suns reflection in the water was kind of “impossible”. The sun is nowhere to be seen since it was BEHIND me. It was only the reflection of the sun in the glass tower in the background

Talent is great but sometimes it also helps to get lucky

I’d love to be able to say that all of this was planned and a picture based on patience, calculation and talent. The reality is that I was getting off some shots to hurry after my family that was ahead of me. Truth is that I got lucky by hitting the exact fraction of a second when the boat crossed the suns reflection.

Talent is important – being lucky helps a great deal too 😉
