Up an away

A few years ago I walked through Paris in the area behind Sacre Cœur. It was pretty late and dark and I saw this place with several people sitting outside drinking and smoking. When I looked to their left I saw nice stairs disappearing up into the darkness

When you do something, give it your best. If you don’t get it right the first time, try again.

I didn’t have a tripod with me but the picture turned out well enough. It was on my website and people liked it but I was never totally happy with it. So when the opportunity came I went back with my tripod to take better pictures. Again, people where sitting outside drinking and smoking. I put up my tripod right behind some people (basically just out of the frame on the right) and started snapping away…I have to admit it was a bit obnoxious but I wanted a very specific angle. It turned out well. Zooming in on the original you can even see the writing on the stairs…
